That is the name of my next character for CRO 5.0 after my current character dies. She's the one I'm making the scale bracers for, as well as quite a few other costume pieces. She's been the character that I've written about the longest, and is the one that's closest to my heart. Lately I haven't written much about her, nor have I played her in any RPs. Now I'm going to be making her a character in CRO. In CRO there is a race called Cherubim which gets some pretty awesome bonuses and such, though really I'm only choosing that race for her due to appearances. Rainel is, as many who read this know, a Tsurienmae in my stories, which are a very angelic race of people from the world of Altheria. Sadly I can't just randomly play a character who has black wings, and sadly she won't have her almost seraphic appearance of having 3 sets of black and silver wings. So I am compromising and making her a Cherub with a grand set of black and silver wings, which will be beautiful.

Of course this means I have to make her costume. The more I think about her, the more complicated her costume becomes. It started as just "She's going to wear mostly black, have a leather corset, and have scale bracers." Soon that became "Okay she's going to be a Cherubim, with black and silver wings, scale bracers, and a leather corset." After much thinking and discussing, and many more designs and additions it finally became. "Rainel will be a warrior Cherub, with black and silver wings, which have scale armor on them. She'll also have scale bracers, and a scale collar/gorget. She'll also have a leather half skirt which will have a scale trim. She'll wear black "tights" (my tight black yoga pants) as well as a form-fitting black shirt. She'll wear knee-high black leather boots which go over the "tights". On one ear she will wear an ear wrap (which will be any of these three: [link] [link] [link] , probably all three over the course of a weekend) On the other ear she has an earring, a red feather wrapped in silver, which is one of her deceased eldest brother's feathers. She'll also wear earcuffs on the same ear as the feather. As is required by the Cherub race she will have silver markings, in the form of thin vine-like spirals all over her exposed skin. She has a scar on her face and a star-burst scar over her heart. As I can't likely get red contacts in my prescription I'll wear red eye-liner to denote that she has red eyes."

As you can probably tell this costume went from fairly simple to very elaborate. So far I've made the feather earring, which I will post pictures of. I've almost finished the first scale bracer and have yet to make the second. I have the scales to make the gorget, but not the wing armor. I still need to order the ear wraps, and I still need to order the corset. I have most of the stuff to make the wings, however the frame I made isn't going to hold up to the weight of the armor, so I need to buy some PVC or something and bend it into the form of a rather large pair of wings that I can wear into battle. I have the fabric that will be going on the wings, however I need the frame made before I can cut and sew the fabric into the proper shape. So I still have a lot of work to do on this character's costume.

Basically between work, playing iRO, and making my costume, I might not be around much. For that I appologize. However I will be trying to keep anyone interested updated on how my costume is coming along. I will post in-progress photos of many of the pieces, as well as photos of the finished products. The in-progress and quick snapshot photos of my work will be going into my "scrapbook". Finished pieces that I have taken good photos of will be posted in my gallery.
